Oversee the daily operation of the shift, ensures the safety of guests and employees and to properly document internal control and department procedure violations.


  • Maintain relations with TGC
  • Review video footage and provide written reports of all findings from the reviews
  • Provide daily reports to the Surveillance Director, Manager and Tribal Gaming Commission
  • Ensure tape changes and digital recording system check
  • Report on equipment malfunctions
  • Ensure accuracy of logs of tapes, photos, radio and telephone calls, technicians in machines, etc.
  • Handle irregularities
  • Implement and comply with internal controls
  • Provide for communication with other departments
  • Ensure adequate coverage for surveillance activities
  • Train subordinates, providing each with the knowledge, development and appropriate direction to perform his/her responsibilities
  • Special projects
  • Provide continuous positive coaching for development of employees and appropriate corrective action when necessary
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance appraisals and accurate work history entries
  • Exhibit sound decision-making with emphasis on motivating team and maintaining high morale
  • Be a participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved with projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions. Contribute to the improvement of the business with ideas
  • Facilitate change effort within the department and the casino
  • Work with other departments for the overall good of the casino
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner
  • Responsible for, or actively participates in, the initiation of personnel actions including but not limited to: interviews, training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.


  • High school diploma/G.E.D. required
  • Two years demonstrated successful performance as surveillance officer
  • One year demonstrated successful performance as a Dual Rate Surveillance Supervisor
  • Must have completed Exploring Supervisory Opportunities
  • Successfully pass the Super LAP skills test

Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent math skills

  • Attention to detail/Observant
  • Knowledge of radio etiquette
  • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes
  • Comfortable under surveillance
  • Professional appearance and grooming
  • Complete knowledge of all internal controls
  • Complete knowledge of all surveillance job duties


  • Able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grasp
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to lift 20 pounds
  • Respond to visual and aural cues
  • Read, write and speak English
